Ajay Purkar Returns to Television After Six Years To Play the Antagonist in Star Pravah’s ‘Nashibwan’
For the past several years, Star Pravah has captured viewers’ hearts with its powerful stories and high-quality serials. Now, the channel is gearing up to present a fresh concept with its upcoming show Nashibwan. The series follows the life of Girija, a young woman burdened with hardships — growing up without parental love, taking on household responsibilities at a tender age, and struggling to survive. Yet, amidst all her challenges, Girija discovers that she is, in fact, lucky. The show will unravel the intriguing journey of how and why she becomes ‘Nashibwan’.
Renowned actor Ajay Purkar will be seen portraying the villain, Nageshwar Ghorpade — a ruthless man who uses his wealth to oppress ordinary people, commits crimes without hesitation, and still manages to escape the law. Speaking about the role, Purkar says, “I’m returning to television after nearly six years. The moment I heard about Nageshwar, I was drawn to it. Working with a leading channel like Star Pravah and a reputed production house like Kothare Visions is an opportunity I couldn’t refuse. My long-cherished dream of working with Mahesh Kothare is coming true through this show. Nageshwar is a layered character, and the story revolves around him. I’ve never played such a commanding villain before, so it will be a fresh challenge for me as an actor.”
